The Illinois Father and Detective Initiative (ILFDI), was founded to help confront the problem of father absence. 

ILFDI's mission is to promote responsible fatherhood by increasing the proportion of children growing up with involved, responsible, and committed fathers. 

ILFDI works to accomplish this mission through: Educating and inspiring all people, especially fathers, through public awareness campaigns, research, and other resources.

ILFDI utilizes the resources of law enforcement and private investigators to help parents engaged in custody and support cases.
